Contemporary Realistic Oil Painting
Marianne V. Kuhn graduated from Montclair State Collage, NJ with a B.A. in Education. She began studying oil painting at the Ridgewood Art Institute with John P. Osborne. Here Marianne learned the Prismatic palette developed by Frank Vincent Dumond. This palette lends itself to painting value, atmospheric effects and progression in the landscape. Her work was further developed at workshops with national artists such as Scott L. Christensen and Kenn Bachhaus.
Marianne and her husband, Bruce winter in Ft. Mill, SC and summer in Lake George, NY. Her artwork over the years has developed a strong following in the Lake George area. The Carolinas Low Country, The TetonTeton Valley, ID, and Nantucket are favorite places to paint.
Her goal is to create a body of work that uses lighting, atmospheric affects and design to depict the spirit of the landscape. Painting in The Adirondack Mountains with Plein Air Magazine’s sponsored paint out the past few years have also been a great experience.
Marianne is a member of Oil Painters f America and The American Impressionist Society.
She has most recently been accepted to exhibit
